We do have a couple of concerns, however, that we feel need to be addressed: 1. The wording of the proposal needs to be clarified regarding curricular issues. It appears to our committee that the governing board will be in charge of the curriculum, but the board has several non-senate members on it. How will this work? Will they be non-voting members on issues related to curricula? Or is our interpretation of what the board is responsible for incorrect? 2. We still have some questions/concerns regarding resource issues. The e-mail you sent out mentions a report on the topic by the Office of Resource Management and Planning, but that document is not on your website (that we can find, anyway). 3. There is a lingering concern that the College of Engineering will not be adequately represented in curricular issues. We will be a substantial "consumer" of this product, and we would like some sort of assurance that technical writing instruction is well-represented in the course offerings and that staff with appropriate backgrounds in this area are hired. Matt Farrens Chair, Executive Committee of the College of Engineering
